Intercultural Therapy is a growing field in psychology, counseling and psychotherapy. Intercultural psychotherapy recognises the importance of culture: beliefs, values, attitudes, religion and language; and the external realities of the client’s life. Recognising the differences and similarities of various aspects of culture for both the client and therapist and also being sensitive to the external realities of the client during therapy are considered vital for the successful outcome of the therapy. I provide individual, couple and family sessions to clients who experience the most challenging circumstances while they live abroad, ensuring they are encouraged to move forward with their lives.
Intercultural Couples Counseling
Partners with different cultural backgrounds often face a very particular set of challenges, which cause misunderstandings and miscommunication. Cultural differences can be the reason for different values and expectations with regards to marriage, family and parenting. Intercultural therapy aims to develop a third culture in which both partners are equally respected.
